Our Promise to You
At Heinz, there's an ingredient in our food you won't find on
the label. Good thinking. We think about every single carefully
selected ingredient - its taste, its texture and its goodness. We
do this for a good reason - so it's best for your baby's
development.
It's listening to mums just like you that gives us our
inspiration. We craft all of our food to be as close to homemade as
we can make it, using the kind of ingredients you have at home and
mixed with a little expertise from the Heinz kitchen. We provide
essential iron in our meals, calcium and Vitamin D in our cereals
and Vitamin C in our fruit pots to meet your baby's needs, along
with the best texture to help them develop through every milestone.
And as you'd expect, it's free from artificial flavours, colours
and preservatives.
Heinz makes baby food this way because for us, for you and for
your baby, every mouthful matters
.
How do we ensure that every mouthful
matters
?
Energy for growth
Little ones need a lot of calories for their small size to fuel
their amazing growth but their tiny tummies mean they get full very
quickly. At Heinz, we make sure each of our meals are the perfect
portion size so that, when given as part of a balanced diet, your
little one gets just the right amount of calories to fuel their
growth. To get the balance right, as your little one grows older,
you may like to offer a dessert such as a fruit pot with 10 month
meals. For more information on how much your little one needs, take
a look at our meal planners here.
Vitamins and minerals
We all need vitamins and minerals for growth and development but
it's not always easy to ensure a balanced diet. We've done the hard
work for you by enriching our foods with key nutrients. Here are
some examples:
- Iron for brain development - our Heinz Mum's Own, Taste of
Home, Farley's Rusks and Heinz Breakfasts all provide a source of
iron.
- Calcium and vitamin D for healthy bones - Our Heinz Breakfasts,
Dinners and Rusks all provide a source of calcium and Vitamin D.
Heinz Fruity Yogurts also provide a source calcium in every
pot.
- Vitamin C - Heinz Breakfasts and Dinners, Fruity pots and
Smoothies all provide a source of Vitamin C.
- Our Heinz Breakfasts and Dinners also provide a third of your
baby's key daily vitamins and minerals, including all of the above,
as well as B vitamins and zinc.
Tailored textures
Giving your little one the right textures at every age stage
helps them learn to chew and even helps develop the muscles they
need for speech. We've worked with both mums and experts, like
child psychologists and nutritionists, to ensure that at each
stage, we provide the perfect texture to help little mouths
develop, learn to chew, from smooth purees, through to soft mashed
textures and tender pieces.

Developing taste buds
Introducing new foods and flavours is a key part of learning
about the world of food, and the more flavours little ones taste,
the less likely they are to be fussy eaters later on. That's why we
introduce new flavour combinations at every stage, from simple
Creamy Oat Porridge at 4 months, through Pumpkin and Lamb Stew at 7
months, to Creamy Chicken Curry at 10 months.
