Question

Hi, my name is Nisa. My baby now is 6 month old and I have already start giving him solid food. What am I concerned now is about food that my baby sitter gives to him. She always puts salt on my son's porridge to make it tastier. Is it allowed to put salt on baby's food?

Answer

It's advisable to avoid adding salt to your baby's food, so I'd ask your baby sitter to stop adding salt to your little one's porridge. I'm sure it's tasty enough!

Remember, babies under the age of 12 months should not eat more than a gram of salt a day.
