Question
What adult cereals can you give a 6 month old baby?
Answer
It's tempting to feed your baby the same sort of cereals you eat
but actually there are several important reasons why adult foods
are not suitable for babies. It's best to only use baby cereals
until your little one is at least a year old.
Firstly, most adult cereals have much higher levels of salt than
baby cereals, like Heinz Farleys Breakfasts. Too much salt can harm
your baby's tiny body and can also give them a preference for
saltier foods when they are older. Our Heinz
Breakfasts are low in salt.
Baby cereals often have added vitamins and minerals at
the right levels for a baby, whereas adult cereals may contain
levels that are higher than necessary. We ensure all our cereals
provide a third of your baby's key daily vitamins and minerals.
Finally, baby cereals use only specially grown and selected
ingredients to ensure they are safe and high quality for growing
infants.
