Is it ok to feed my 6 month old boy solids whilst he is lying down? He hasn't yet learned to sit and doesn't like being propped up to eat either.

Answer

It's really important that your little one can sit properly and hold up their head unaided before you begin to wean him. This is one of the signs of readiness to wean.

 

It is very dangerous to feed your son while he is lying down, as there will be a high risk of choking.

 

I'd recommend that you speak to your healthcare professional regarding ways to help your son learn to sit up before trying to wean him.
