Question
My 15 month old daughter's father is feeding her 4 month baby jars for dinner when she is at his house. I am worried they are too young for her.
Answer
It's not ideal to give a toddler pureed food as by now they
should be able to eat chopped up adult foods. Giving foods with
more of an adult texture is important in teaching toddlers to chew,
feed themselves and learn about food.
4 month jars contain a very small portion, suitable for a
younger infant and therefore may not be enough for your 15 month
old daughter who needs more calories and nutrients to grow.
I would advise that you have a chat with your little one's
father and ask him to give her toddler foods, rather than
purees, if possible. If he doesn't want to cook, there are always
toddler tray meals on offer. Have a look at some of our tray meals
for some inspiration here.
Do let us know how you get on.
