I just introduced stage 1 sweet potatoes to my 6 month old and he seemed to be not himself afterwords, he didn't have any symptoms of an allergic reaction but he was very hyper and a little out of sorts. I am just wondering if this could be an allergic reaction?

I know how concerning it can be when your little one is unwell or seems to be not himself.

 

Signs of an allergic reaction can be swelling of the lips, wheezing or shortness of breath, rashes or hives, itching, runny nose or could also be like an upset tummy, e.g. vomiting and diarrhoea.

 

If you are concerned about your little one's reaction to a food, I would advise you contact your healthcare professional to ensure he does not have any allergies and to put your mind at rest.
