Question
I am starting work and would like to give my 16 week old baby boy breastmilk and formula in my absence. How much should I give him per day and how much at one time? He weighs 6.6 kgs.
Answer
At the age of 4-5 months a baby needs about 200ml expressed
breast milk or formula milk, 5 times a day. All babies are
different and if you have been breastfeeding on demand up until now
then you may find he will want more or less frequent feeds or may
want more or less at any one feed. Play it by ear for the first few
days and you'll probably find he settles into a routine.
