Question
My baby is 7 months old and I don't cook any of his meals. I just give him purees. I'm worried he is not getting enough vitamins.
Answer
It's natural to worry that your little one is not getting enough
nutrients. If you're giving your baby manufactured baby food then
you can be sure that this is nutritionally tailored for your little
one, as there are strict laws to ensure that baby food contains the
right nutrients and is made with high quality, safe
ingredients.
It's important that your little one gets enough milk as well as
weaning foods, so make sure he is drinking about 500-600ml of his
usual milk a day.
Heinz baby foods contain a range of vitamins and minerals, such
as iron in savoury meals, which can help brain development, calcium
and vitamin D in cereals, for strong bones and vitamin C in
fruit pots.
At 7 months of age, you might like to think about introducing
texture into your little one's food. At this stage a mashed
texture, containing small soft lumps, will encourage your baby to
start learning to chew food. This will help them to eventually
progress onto family foods.
