Question

Do you know why my baby is spitting milk so much?

Answer

Spitting up milk is known as "reflux" or "possetting". It's quite common in babies, so rest assured, you are not alone.

If your baby's reflux is mild and they are feeding normally, then some of the following may help:

Hold your baby upright for 20 minutes after you've fed them

Trying giving smaller feeds, more frequently.

If you are bottle feeding, try winding your baby every 2-3 minutes

If reflux seems severe, for example, if it's happening more than 5 times a day, or if your baby is vomitting regularly, crying or coughing a lot after feeds, then I would adise speaking to your healthcare professional, who can advise you on the best solution.
