Question
My baby has just started eating puree food, but he now has started to wake more in the night is it because he is still hungry? Would it be better for me to give him food before I put him down to bed at night.
Answer
Your little one may still be hungry or may be having a growth
spurt, so you could try offering purees on more than one occasion
during the day, for example at breakfast and dinner. Make sure you
are still offering 500-600ml breast milk a day or if you have
chosen to stop breastfeeding, use a follow-on formula.
Let your baby tell you when they are full, so if he still seems
hungry, offer some more food. If he turns his head away, cries or
starts spitting food out, he has probably had enough to eat.
Remember that babies will sometimes have days when they want to
eat everything under the sun and some days when they are less
interested in food. Your little one is very good at regulating what
he eats to make sure he gets when he needs to grow and develop.
