Question
My baby used to eat really well but now at 7 months he won't eat much food unless it's sweet. He will feed himself some finger foods but I am struggling to get any meat or veg into him.
Answer
Babies naturally prefer sweet foods so it's common to find that
they reject foods with other tastes, especially green vegetables or
meat.
Try offering sweeter vegetables like sweet potato, carrot,
pumpkin or swede mixed with a little well cooked minced meat,
mashed finely into small lumps. Remember, you may need to offer a
food on 8 or more occasions before your little one will accept
it, so do keep trying.
Once he's used to sweeter vegetables, try offering different
tastes like broccoli, parsnip and cauliflower.
Good luck and do let us know how you get on.
