Question

My baby boy is 6 months old he loves his food but he's starting to want less milk during the day and only has 2 bottles at the most but makes up for it at night and has around 2-3 more bottles. Is this ok ?

Answer

It's quite usual for babies to take less milk when you start weaning. When weaning is established, food becomes an important source of nutrition. However, milk still forms a significant part of the diet, so it's important to provide about 500ml of your little one's usual milk a day.

It sounds like your son is taking about this amount of milk a day, so he is probably getting enough. Do let us know if he is having less than this amount. Ways you can increase milk in the diet is to use it in cooking milk based dishes like rice pudding, custard and cheese sauces for pasta.
