Question
My baby is 8 months nearly and he wont let me spoon feed him any more. What do I do? He will only eat solid food with his fingers.
Answer
Thank you for your question.
A lot of babies want more independence to feed themselves
as they get older. Feeding himself is a great way for him to
learn about food so you can encourage it. However, if you're
worried about him not getting enough to eat, you can
try the following:
Try giving him a spoon to hold while you feed him with
another one to make sure some of the food goes in or,
Try making finger food meals - there are some recipes in our
Products and Recipes section on the website and also some
information here. Just make
sure all food is cooked though but soft enough for him to chew.
