Question
My baby girl is 6 months old and doesn't eat her lunch, whatever I give her. She eats breakfast and dinner without any problems. Do you have any tips?
Answer
At 6 months of age, little ones are new to the world of food. So
it may take a while for them to work up to eating 3 times a day,
particularly as they still need about 500ml their usual milk a
day.
So it sounds like your daughter is not hungry in the middle of
the day. As she grows, you will find her appetite naturally
increases, so keep offering her food regularly but don't worry if
she doesn't seem to want much. Let her decide when she's had
enough, as forcing her to eat when she's not hungry can set up
problems with eating in the future.
As a guide, have a look at my menu planner for
6 months for ideas on how much food to offer.
