Question
Why are all rusks not reduced sugar? I am quite shocked by this.
Answer
To be labelled as 'reduced sugar' a rusk has to contain a third
less sugar than the Original version. Our Farley's Banana and
Wholemeal Rusks are also reduced sugar, so we do have a range
of products available in addition to the Original rusk.
Farley's Rusks have been enjoyed by generations of babies, and
some adults too, for 120 years. Enriched with vitamins and
minerals, the unique Farley's Rusk recipe has remained virtually
unchanged.
The level of added sugars in these recipes is kept to a minimum
consistent with the need to provide a biscuit-like texture which
also dissolves easily to avoid choking. In this respect Farley's
Rusks are very different from typical biscuits. They are also very
low in salt.
