Question

Should my 1 year old still have her main meal at lunch? She has been having soup, cheese and a yoghurt for lunch, and dinner with us in the evening. She now doesn't want soup and I'm struggling to come up with items to feed her for lunch.

Answer

Thanks for your question.

The best answer is to leave it up to your daughter to decide how much she wants to eat at lunch and dinner. If she prefers to eat more in the evening and doesn't want much for lunch, try just offering a snack, like some crustless cheese mini sandwiches, pitta bread fingers with hummus or cream cheese dip or a scrambled egg on crustless toast.

Offer a snack morning and afternoon too, such as fruit, vegetable sticks and yoghurts to provide vitamins and minerals but make sure she doesn't fill up too close to meal times.
