Apple crumble

Ingredients

  • 1 (175g) red skinned apple
  • 25g plain flour
  • 2 tsp caster sugar
  • A pinch of ground cinnamon
  • 7g knob of butter

Method

1. Peel, core and slice the apples, put in a microwaveable dish with 2 tbsp water. Cover and microwave on 'high' for 2 mins or until the fruit is tender. Break up with a spoon until mushy then spoon into the base of three small or one medium oven proof dish.

2. Place the flour, sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl (or food processor) then rub in the butter until it looks like crumbs. Scatter on top of the stewed apples.

3. Bake at 180°C for 20-25 minutes or until the crumble is golden. Cool. Serve warm with a little natural yogurt spooned over.

Heinz top tip

You could also add a few blackberries to the apple to add colour and flavour
