Baby’s Christmas Dinner

Ingredients

  • 1 medium carrot (80g)
  • 1 small parsnip (90g)
  • 1 medium potato (120g)
  • 50g broccoli florets
  • small knob of butter
  • 65g cooked roasted turkey, very finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp cranberry sauce
  • Half a pouch of Cook at Home Chicken Gravy

Method

1. Peel the carrot, parsnip and potatoes; cut into small dice. Cook in a small pan of boiling water for 10 minutes. Add the broccoli and cook for a further 5 minutes or until all the vegetables are tender.

2. Drain the vegetables and return to the pan, add the butter and mash until all lumps are small and soft. Add the turkey, cranberry and gravy and stir through. Serve at room temperature or warmed.

3. If serving to a 4-6 month old, puree all ingredients together with a stick blender until smooth. If serving to a 10-12 month old, chop the vegetables into batons, which your little one can eat as a finger food or chop them into 1cm pieces before cooking until soft.

Heinz top tip

Why not replace broccoli with Brussels sprouts or carrot with swede or pumpkin to get your little one used to a variety of flavours?
