Salmon is a superfood for toddlers, boosting their brain development. This delicious finger food recipe from MadeForMums adds a splash of honey to complement the fish flavours.

Ingredients

  • 150g salmon fillets
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp clear honey
  • ½ tsp fresh root ginger, finely grated

Heinz top tip

Soak the wooden skewers in water before cooking to stop them burning under the grill.

Method

1. Mix together the sesame seed oil, honey and ginger for the marinade, and put in a shallow dish.

2. Cut the salmon into 2cm cubes and put into the dish, spooning over the marinade. Leave for an hour, turning occasionally.

3. Preheat the grill to high, and line the grill pan with foil. Thread the salmon cubes onto the wooden skewers and brush again with the marinade.
4. Grill for about 5 minutes each side, basting with the marinade. Remove the salmon from skewers and serve with boiled basmati rice and steamed vegetables.
